How do I add text or highlight a PDF?
Choose a PDF, open a page and select Text or Highlight. Click to place a note or drag a rectangular highlight across an area. Use Select / move or Undo to adjust it, then export the annotated PDF.
Can I draw a signature on a PDF?
Yes. Draw / signature adds a visible freehand mark. It is a drawing on the page, not a certificate-based digital signature or identity verification. Changing a digitally signed PDF can invalidate its existing signature.
Can I change or redact the original text?
No. New text, highlights, and drawings are placed over the original page content. They do not edit or securely redact the original text. Exported marks become page content rather than editable PDF comments.
When is my PDF uploaded?
Page previews and annotation editing happen locally. Export uploads the PDF and annotation instructions to create a temporary download. Save the result promptly; keep this tab open until you have exported your work.
What are the limits?
Use an unencrypted PDF up to 30 MiB and 200 pages. Add up to 500 annotations and 20,000 drawing points in total, with 2,000 points per stroke. Text supports basic Latin letters, numbers, and punctuation, up to 300 characters per note and 10,000 total. Export is limited to 50 MiB and 30 seconds.
Are rotated and cropped pages supported?
Yes. Marks follow the visible page orientation and crop area. Original page content, page count, sizes, and rotations remain in the exported document. Interactive forms and existing PDF comments are not edited here and may appear differently in other viewers.
Are highlights and notes editable after export?
The exported marks become page content, so they are not editable PDF comment objects. Keep this tab open to adjust the notes before export. The tool does not save annotation work between visits.
What is a practical PDF review example?
Open a three-page report. Add the text Check total and a yellow rectangular highlight on page one, then draw a short blue mark on page two. Review the marks and export. In a checked example, the output retained all three pages and their rotations, original text remained extractable, and the new note was present. The marks were rendered page content, with no new editable PDF comment objects.
Why does a highlight cover an area instead of selecting words?
Highlight draws a translucent rectangle where you drag; it does not select text by meaning or extract OCR text. Adjust the rectangle with Select / move and Undo before export. Marks cannot securely redact underlying content. If a text note extends beyond the visible page, move it inward or reduce its size. Keep the tab open because the annotations are not saved between visits.
