A little help, from Zutilium.Compress PDF
Reduce PDF size with a preset that fits your quality needs
Drop your file here
or click anywhere to browse
Max file size: 100 MiB
Three fixed compression presets
Choose Low, Medium, or High. Each applies a fixed set of document-wide image and encoding settings; it does not analyze individual pages to choose a separate preset.
Trade file size for image detail
Stronger compression can visibly soften scans, small labels, or detailed images. Test the result on the pages that matter to you.
Keep the original for comparison
Some PDFs are already optimized and may not become smaller. Download the output and compare its file size and readability with the source.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do the compression levels differ?
The current presets use image-resolution and JPEG-quality targets: Low uses 72 DPI and quality 90; Medium uses 96 DPI and quality 70; High uses 36 DPI and quality 40. Results depend on the PDF, so preview the downloaded pages before relying on the output.
Can you guarantee a percentage reduction?
No. A scanned or image-heavy PDF may compress substantially, while an optimized or text-only PDF may change little or become larger. No reduction percentage is guaranteed.
Will links, forms, signatures, and bookmarks remain intact?
The PDF is rewritten during compression. Interactive features, accessibility information, signatures, and other document details may change. Test required features in the output and keep the original.
Can I use a password-protected PDF?
Use an unencrypted PDF. This tool has no password input or unlocking workflow.
What is the upload limit?
The default limit is 100 MiB for one file. Check the upload area for the current limit. The server upload ceiling is 100 MiB per file; file complexity and processing time can also limit conversion.
Where are files processed and when are they removed?
This tool uploads files to Zutilium's server for processing. After a successful conversion, uploads are scheduled for deletion after about one minute and generated downloads after about ten minutes. Cleanup runs periodically, so removal is not immediate. Save your result promptly.
