Frequently Asked Questions
Which images can I upload?
JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF. A square source usually uses the icon area most effectively. GIF input uses its first frame.
Will it remove my image background?
No. Existing transparency can be retained, and padding is transparent, but an opaque background in the source remains opaque.
How do I install the icon?
Save the result as favicon.ico on your website and reference it with an icon link in the HTML head. Choose a filename and location that match your own website setup.
Can I edit layers in the ICO output?
No. ICO contains rendered icon images at the selected sizes. Keep the original artwork if you need editable layers.
What is the upload limit?
The default limit is 30 MiB for one file. Check the upload area for the current limit. The server upload ceiling is 100 MiB per file; file complexity and processing time can also limit conversion.
Where are files processed and when are they removed?
This tool uploads files to Zutilium's server for processing. After a successful conversion, uploads are scheduled for deletion after about one minute and generated downloads after about ten minutes. Cleanup runs periodically, so removal is not immediate. Save your result promptly.
