Text-based table extraction
The server uses Tabula to detect tables in PDFs with selectable text. Table structure and document layout affect detection.
One worksheet named Data
Detected table rows are placed sequentially on one Data worksheet with spacing between tables.
Review values and headers
Extracted cell values are stored as text. Check table headers, missing rows, column boundaries, numbers, dates, and currency before using formulas.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I extract scanned tables with OCR?
No. This processor does not perform OCR. Image to Text can extract plain text from scans, but it does not recreate a formatted Excel table for this converter.
Will each table have a separate worksheet?
No. Detected table data is appended to one worksheet named Data. There is no sheet-per-table or combine-sheets option.
Are numbers and date formats preserved?
Values are written as strings. You may need to convert number and date cells in Excel and restore the formats you need.
What if no tables are found?
A PDF with only prose or an unsupported table layout may produce an empty or incomplete Data sheet. Check the result and use PDF to Word or PDF to Markdown for general text.
Can I provide a PDF password?
There is no password option. Use an unencrypted PDF with selectable table text.
What is the upload limit?
The default limit is 20 MiB for one file. Check the upload area for the current limit. The server upload ceiling is 100 MiB per file; file complexity and processing time can also limit conversion.
Where are files processed and when are they removed?
This tool uploads files to Zutilium's server for processing. After a successful conversion, uploads are scheduled for deletion after about one minute and generated downloads after about ten minutes. Cleanup runs periodically, so removal is not immediate. Save your result promptly.
