Select Open QR image for a PNG, JPEG or WebP screenshot or photo. To scan a printed code, choose Start camera and allow access.

  2. 2

Keep one complete QR code and its clear outer border visible. Crop closer if a large photo makes the code too small.

Read the decoded content before opening a website; Wi-Fi details and contact cards remain visible text.

Copy the result, download qr-content.txt or explicitly choose Open website.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I scan a QR code from an image?

Select Open QR image and choose a PNG, JPG or WebP screenshot or photo. The tool decodes one QR code locally. Read the decoded content, then copy it or download a TXT file.

Are images or camera frames uploaded?

No. QR decoding happens locally in a web worker. The tool does not save a scan history. Camera access stops after a successful scan, when you leave the tool, or when the tab becomes hidden.

Which images are supported?

PNG, JPEG and WebP images up to 10 MiB and 16 megapixels. The tool reads one QR code per scan. Crop a large photo around the code if it is too small to read, while keeping the white border.

Why does the camera not start?

Camera scanning needs HTTPS or localhost, browser camera support and your permission. If access is denied or another app is using the camera, use Open QR image to select a screenshot or photo.

Will a scan automatically open a link or join Wi-Fi?

No. The decoded text is displayed first. Only HTTP and HTTPS addresses receive an optional Open website button. Wi-Fi details, contact cards and other content remain text you can inspect and copy.

Can it read all barcodes?

This tool reads QR codes, including many rotated and inverted codes. It does not read other barcode formats. Blurred, damaged, very small or unusual codes may need a clearer image.

Can I scan a screenshot on the same phone?

Yes. Save a screenshot or photo and select it with Open QR image. You do not need a second phone or the camera. Keep the whole QR code and its clear outer border in the image.
